Objectives The primary objectives of this project were to foster environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices by providing an eco-friendly solution for accessing WBM Technologies' digital Community Impact Report. This annual report highlights the community organizations WBM supports across Western Canada. In 2022, WBM launched the "March to a Million" initiative, which aims to support organizations making significant differences in the communities where they live and work. By incorporating seed paper bookmarks, WBM aimed to remind stakeholders of the innovative and local solutions available for environmentally conscious decision-making. Strategy & Execution The target audience for this initiative included WBM's client community, employees, and community partners across Western Canada and beyond. The goal was to reach anyone who receives a copy of the Community Impact Report by including a seed paper bookmark in each physical report. WBM Technologies selected seed paper for the bookmarks to align with their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, as presented in the Community Impact Report. Seed paper is an environmentally friendly alternative that supports local biodiversity and native pollinators. This choice reflects WBM’s commitment to reducing waste in the print environment. By using seed paper bookmarks, WBM demonstrated its dedication to environmentally conscious outcomes within its organization and across its client community. A seed paper bookmark was added to each hardcopy of the 2024 Community Impact Report. Recipients could scan the bookmark to quickly access the digital version of the report on WBM’s website. This approach aimed to promote the use of digital versions, furthering WBM’s commitment to sustainability. Results/Outcomes Environmental Impact: By encouraging the use of digital reports, WBM will be able to reduce waste and its environmental footprint. Increased Engagement: The inclusion of the seed paper bookmark will enhance the reader’s experience and engagement with the Community Impact Report by providing an interactive and memorable element. Brand Alignment: This initiative reinforces WBM’s brand image as an environmentally conscious organization dedicated to supporting local communities and promoting sustainable practices.
