While some may still be in denial about the change of season from summer to fall, we prefer to think about the wonderful things to look forward to instead of the shorter days and cooler weather. Like the beautiful shift in color of the trees, cozy sweaters and of course autumn feasts with turkey and gravy! So don't be sad, embrace fall and bring the season into your home by creating these beautiful gold leaves that you can use to adorn pumpkins, make garland, or simply scatter along a table runner. This easy craft uses paper bags and gold craft paint to make shimmering leaves that are elegant and warming. WHAT YOU NEED \tScissors \tGold craft paint \tLarger paint brush \tPencil \tPaper Bags (We attached our leaves to tiny pumkins with some twine but you can use your gold leaves in many ways.) 1) Paint your paper bags on one side. You don't need much paint, a very thin layer will do. 2) Let the paint dry thoroughly. 3) Draw leaf shapes on the bag with a pencil and cut them out of the paper bag. 4) Fold your leaves top to bottom. You can also use a bone fold and your thumb to mold the edges of the leaves and add a slight curl to the paper. 5) If attaching your leaves to a tiny pumpkin like we did, use your pencil to poke a hole in the corner of you leaves and thread the twine into the holes. Tie them to the stem of your pumpkin. And you're done! Easy as pumpkin pie;) Like what you see on our blog?
