Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, washed and frozen overnight
  • 3/4 cup Vanilla Greek yogurt (if you only have plain greek yogurt try adding 2 tablespoons of honey)
  • 5-6 large basil leaves (which you can grow from the pages of your Grow-A-Garden Calendar)

Smoothie Directions:

Combine all three ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and garnish with a strawberry wedge and basil leaf. Enjoy!

The taste is awesome and not overly sweet due to the basil, it makes the flavor really fresh. The basil is also packed with vitamin A, essential oils and is a great anti-oxidant. The greek yogurt makes it extra creamy and thick and is packed with protein while being low in fat. Start your morning off with one of these and you’ll definitely have a healthy start to your day.

Want to grow your own herbs and vegetables? You’re in luck, the 2013 Grow-A-Garden Calendar helps you do just that, each seed paper page contains a different herb or vegetable so when the month has finished you can plant and grow it.
