Sabrina – Customer Support Representative

With many years of customer service experience and enthusiasm for helping people make their projects and ideas come to life, I found myself a perfect fit at Botanical PaperWorks! I have a passion for creativity and sustainability, so collaborating with customers and coworkers who share similar values is so rewarding.

It is my responsibility to make sure everyone who comes to us has an easy and positive experience and to help make sure their vision comes to fruition. I’ve loved Botanical PaperWorks and seed paper long before I worked here, and now I get to share my passion for it more than ever!

Tell us a bit about what you do at Botanical PaperWorks?
As a Customer Support Representative, I am here for the customers! I know the ins and outs of our products and processes so I can answer any questions they have. I get to recommend the best products for their projects, work with artwork, and collaborate with our wonderful customers and production team.

What’s your favorite thing about customer service?
I love answering questions and helping people understand the possibilities of our products and their projects. Sometimes things can be overwhelming, so any way that I can bring clarity and help make the process easy and enjoyable is a win for me! 

What did you find surprising or most interesting about seed paper or Botanical PaperWorks?
Since I first heard of seed paper I was in love with the idea! It’s such a unique and innovative product and explaining it to people who aren’t familiar with it is very satisfying. The concept alone is interesting and the product itself has a beautiful texture. I love that each piece is handmade, there is so much care put into the product and the fact that you can grow flowers, herbs, or veggies from a piece of paper will never lose its ability to shock and awe!

What made you want to work at Botanical PaperWorks?
I love that this company is local to Winnipeg and is woman and family-owned. In my experience, a company that was started by a family feels more like family, and that kind of environment is very important to me. Not only that, but I share the company’s values for sustainability and creating less waste for the world we live in!

What was your favorite project that you worked on and why?
Well since it’s the holidays I’ve loved seeing everyone’s beautiful Christmas cards! Customers get so creative with their ideas. I also got to work on a celebrity wedding invitation which was very cool as well.

What Botanical PaperWorks product do you recommend most often?
Panel Cards are up there since they can just serve so many purposes. They are an easy piece with the space to convey your message and some beautiful imagery. It is such a versatile item that can be used as a direct mailer, postcard, invitation, package insert, handout, etc. I also LOVE suggesting the Grow Kits, a beautiful interactive product that is unique and has everything you need to plant and grow the paper in one convenient and aesthetically pleasing package.

Jackie – Customer Support Representative

I love working work people and I am passionate about preserving our planet. Working at Botanical PaperWorks offers me the opportunity to collaborate with a fantastic group of people to create environmentally friendly products.

What’s your favorite thing about customer service? 
I love the feeling of helping somebody solve a problem and I like working with people every day. 

What did you find surprising or most interesting about seed paper or Botanical PaperWorks? 
That our wildflower blend is tested and approved for planting and sold to over 25 countries across the globe.

What made you want to work at Botanical PaperWorks?
I wanted to work for a company that aligned with my values, and with the bonus of Botanical PaperWorks being eco-friendly, it was a great fit. 

What was your favorite project that you worked on and why?
I’ve really enjoyed working with our clients to create beautiful and eco-friendly Christmas Cards.

What Botanical PaperWorks product do you recommend most often?
I like to recommend our plantable bookmarks. They are a great promotional item that can be reused for years, and of course, be planted! 

Rachel – Outside Sales Representative

I love working with customers looking for sustainable promotional products, especially budget-friendly items. One of my personal favorites is our bookmarks with page slot, being a bookworm myself. Educating and sharing our products during product knowledge sessions, in person at a tradeshow, or connecting over video calls with clients all over the globe is my favorite part of this role. Our team makes beautiful, sustainable products that are good for the planet, which makes selling and sharing them so much fun!

Tell us a bit about what you do at Botanical PaperWorks?
I work with corporate customers and distributors looking to order promotional products. I also work in outbound sales, going to trade shows, hosting product knowledge sessions, and connecting with existing customers.

What’s your favorite thing about customer service?
Talking with people who haven’t heard of seed paper before, and getting to explain how we make the paper and that they can plant it to grow wildflowers, herbs, or veggies!

What did you find surprising or most interesting about seed paper or Botanical PaperWorks?
All the testing that goes into the seeds to make sure that they’re safe for planting, and that they will germinate and grow well.

What made you want to work at Botanical PaperWorks?
I didn’t know anything about the company, and I actually didn’t apply for this role at first!  I applied to be a part-time papermaker and during my interview, they told me about this role and thought I would be a good fit. I learned so much about the company in the first few months when I started. I love working for a company with so many supportive women in leadership roles.   

What was your favorite project that you worked on and why?
Sending out holiday cards! I got to write personal notes to customers I work with regularly and reflect on how amazing they all are. I love the Christmas and holiday season, and being able to spread some joy.

What Botanical PaperWorks product do you recommend most often?

I recommend the printed seed paper shapes because there are so many options to choose from and we can make custom shapes. With the different sizes, colors, and price-points, they’re the perfect option for any event!

Kim – Director of Sales & Marketing

Tell us a bit about what you do at Botanical PaperWorks? 
My time is split between developing plans to achieve our objectives and optimizing the customer experience.  The best part of my job is team development, driving personal and business growth opportunities to reach new heights.

What’s your favorite thing about our customer service team?
Their commitment to ultimate customer experience. They will help determine the best product within their budget that meets their needs. Our clients frequently tell us how wonderful the soaps, candles, and seed paper goods were for their special event!

What did you find surprising or most interesting about seed paper or Botanical PaperWorks?
That human contact that is involved with every piece of seed paper. We are taking paper from waste-derived products, re-pulping and turning it into seed paper. From the meticulous hand screening, distinctive dying methods, cutting-edge printing procedures, and strict quality control, truly makes our paper the best. The best thing is that, rather than adding more garbage to our landfills, you can plant the paper and grow wildflowers or herbs.

What made you want to work at Botanical PaperWorks?
I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to be part of the solution, one step at a time to help with the reduction of waste. I also wanted to be part of a women-owned and run business and help develop the future generation of leaders.

What Botanical PaperWorks product do you recommend/ talk about most often?
There are countless uses for the seed paper shapes. They have been used for company team-building exercises, memorial services, and weddings. It is such a wonderful way to spread awareness, make an impression at an event, and then contribute to the ecosystem by returning it to the planet in a way that benefits it.
