{real wedding inspiration} Holly & Timothy’s Modern Rustic Wedding

After almost two years of planning and wondering if their wedding day would actually happen due to the global pandemic, Holly and Tim finally made their way down the aisle and had the wedding they dreamed of.

They announced their big day with stylish seed paper wedding invitations by Botanical PaperWorks so they could reduce waste and give guests the chance to plant and grow wildflowers from the paper.

On the day of the wedding, the ladies got ready at the bride’s house with a professional makeup artist, Kim from Colour Me Artistry, and talented hairstylists Samantha and James from Samantha James Hair Design.

The couple chose to marry surrounded by an intimate group of friends and family on the grounds at Hawthorn Estates — a venue that perfectly captured the couple’s love for rustic charm, cozy vibes, and the quiet peacefulness of the country.

They knew it was the place the moment they laid eyes on the rustic yet modern carriage barn surrounded by a picturesque prairie landscape.

The bride walked down the aisle in a gorgeous lace bodice gown by Morilee and the bridesmaids were in mismatched floor-length gowns of forest green, rust, and sage found at 7th Avenue Bridal.

The couple said their vows with rings by Vandenbergs Fine Jewellery on what’s known to the venue as marriage hill — an elevated area topped with a wooden arch against a lush green background.

The bouquets were a soft summery blend that included eucalyptus, peach ranunculus, and roses by The Floral Fixx. The wedding arch was also adorned with bursting blooms to add warmth and romance to the setting.

Right after the ceremony, the guests headed into the solarium which was attached to the carriage barn for refreshments before dinner would be served.

A beautiful feast by All Seasons Catering was served family-style under the barn’s high ceilings beside a stunning stone fireplace. Each table greeted guests with delicate bud vases with gold detailing echoed in the cutlery, table numbers, and candle holders.

Handmade soap wedding favors by Botanical PaperWorks were shared on a table beside the entrance so that when guests entered, they were greeted with a gift that smelled of lavender and patchouli. Each handmade soap bar was also wrapped in seed paper, so guests could plant and grow wildflowers like the invitations.

The dinner was followed by brief but beautiful speeches before the event moved back outside where small campfires and outdoor games awaited guests to visit and mingle in a Covid-safe way.

The day turned out to be everything the couple hoped for, and the guests raved about what a wonderful time they had.

Best wishes to the happy couple.

We hope your life together is filled with many moments to make memories as beautiful as the ones you made on your wedding day.
